Thad Bennett

The Rev. Thaddeus A. Bennett, a transition project consultant, has over 30 years experience in the Episcopal Church. In 2010 Thad took the CPG 55/30 Early Retirement Option after serving for 10 years as the part-time Canon for Transition Ministry in the Episcopal Diocese of Vermont and part-time rector of St. Mary’s-in-the-Mountains Episcopal Church in Wilmington, VT. Prior to his move to rural Vermont, he was the Canon to the Ordinary in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles.

Thad is one of the authors of and a trainer for Episcopal Church’s Fresh Start resource and serves as a vocational faculty for CREDO. He helped found three HIV/AIDS organizations, including the National Episcopal AIDS Coalition (NEAC), and co-authored a number of resources for HIV/AIDS education and ministry.  He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the General Theological Seminary. He lives in Newfane, VT with his partner by Vermont Civil Union, consults for the Episcopal Church in a variety ministries and studies the spirituality of dry stone wall building in his spare time.
