When Your Parish Has a School: An Orientation for Rectors and Vestry Members

This webinar took place on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 7:00-8:00PM ET. The recording and slides are available below.

Each year, new vestry members are elected at Episcopal parishes and cathedrals that include an Episcopal school as part of its ministry and/or corporation. But many vestry members may not know a great deal about their school, about the church-school relationship, or about their role as vestry members in relation to the school. This webinar will provide a basic orientation to Episcopal parish day schools: their history mission, and governance as well as the elements of healthy church-school relations. Ideal for new vestry members or anyone who would like a refresher on this topic.

The webinar will be presented by Ann Mellow, Associate Director, National Association of Episcopal Schools. In her role at NAES, Ann leads webinars and workshops on church-school relations and consults with parishes and schools across the provinces of the Episcopal Church.
