Get to Know the Church Pension Group Before General Convention

When the Church Pension Group (CPG) began operations in 1917, the Rt. Rev. Bishop William Lawrence set out to create a pension fund that would enable clergy to retire with dignity. More than a century since, CPG’s role has expanded to include other products and services and to cover lay employees who are critical to the Church’s ability to fulfill its mission.

As the 79th General Convention approaches many have sought to gain a better understanding of CPG’s role in the Church and how it is aligned with its values.

We invite you to join us to hear from CPG’s CEO and President Mary Kate Wold who will discuss current initiatives and answer some frequently asked questions, including:

  • Why aren’t pension benefits the same for everybody?
  • Why does The Church Pension Fund need so much money?
  • How do The Church Pension Fund’s investments reflect the values of the Church?

By attending this webinar you will gain a better understanding of how CPG is aligned with the Church and how it continues to evolve its thinking to ensure that it continues to meet the needs of clergy and lay employees of the Church.
