This webinar explores neighborhood-based house church ministry as one form of mission that can bring Episcopalians from established congregations into communion with others in their wider parish to witness together to the presence of Christ and the Kingdom of God in the world. When the peoples’ work of worship, Christian formation and service with others take place in homes, neighborhoods, or the street -wherever the people are- we begin to learn what it means to be part of the Jesus Movement in our context and what it means to be mutual partners in witnessing to the kingdom of God, regardless of race, gender, immigration status, faith background or social station. By focusing on building relationships across lines of privilege that tend to keep people separated, this approach to mission and community-building can reinvigorate existing congregations and transform individual faith lives while expanding the Episcopal Church’s presence in any context.

Designed for lay leaders, clergy and anyone who is interested in thinking creatively about mission, this webinar will consider approaches and practices for congregations to allow God’s call to lead them outward to witness the ongoing movement of Christ in our day.
