Ashes to Go: Tips for Liturgical Outreach

If you love liturgy and worship but "evangelism" makes you anxious, why not liturgical evangelism? The symbols and actions of our worship are a strong invitation to share in God's grace, especially when we take them outside the walls of the church building.

Based on the experience of Calvary Episcopal Church, Lombard, and other churches in Chicago and other dioceses, the following tips will help a congregation plan an exciting Ash Wednesday outreach ministry, or think about other ways to connect the gifts of Episcopal liturgy and worship to the life and concerns of your local community.
