ECF’s Ten Advent Resources for 2017

Here is a list of ECF's favorite free Advent resources, including calendars and devotions; Advent wreaths and activities; St. Nicholas Day; and preparing for Christmas visitors at your church.

1. 2017 Advent Devotional Calendar – A beautiful, simple, and low tech calendar for Advent. Created and shared by Thomas Mousin and Merry Watters. Download, print, and share.

2. #AdventWord – The Society of Saint John the Evangelist (SSJE) has partnered with the Anglican Communion Office and Virginia Theological Seminary for #AdventWord 2017, and invite you to participate in the Global Advent Calendar. Respond to a daily meditation with images and prayers that speak to you this Advent.

3. Episcopal Relief & Development Advent Toolkit – ERD provides tools and inspiration, including a calendar, to help plan and carry out an Advent program centered around Gifts for Life.

4. Advent Wreath Making and Prayers - A guide and ideas for hosting an Advent wreath making event along with printable prayers and reflections that individuals and families can take home and use during Advent candle lighting.

5. King of Peace Advent Page - A parish resource page about the traditions of Advent, including Advent wreaths and Jesse Trees.

6. Advent Parish Checklist - Use this handy checklist for getting your church ready for visitors during Advent and Christmas.

10. Free Advent and Christmas Video Invitation – Acts 8 Movement has produced videos that can be used as-is or easily customized for your congregation in both English and Spanish.
