Lessons for all Churches from Church Planting

This webinar took place on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 7:30-8:30PM ET. A recording of the presentation and the PowerPoint slides are available below.

What lessons from church planting can enrich the ministry of the wider church? People who plant new churches must learn how to interact with the communities around them, how to build and empower a team of lay leaders, and how to get the word out about Jesus' life-transforming love through the church. These same questions affect every church that wants to proclaim the good news of Christ in its community. This seminar will talk about the three important questions to ask in discerning a church's mission, about ways that churches have gotten the news of the church out to their communities, and about equipping and empowering a motivated team of leaders.

The Rev. Susan Brown Snook is church planter and rector of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, Scottsdale, Arizona, which she planted with a team of lay leaders in 2006. This seminar will be based on that experience, plus the experience of a number of other church planters she interviewed for her book, God Gave the Growth: Church Planting in the Episcopal Church, forthcoming from Church Publishing.
