Freedom for Immigrants
Freedom for Immigrants
Freedom for Immigrants is an immigrant-led, abolitionist organization committed to ending immigration incarceration. They organize alongside leaders directly impacted by immigration detention, their families, and communities across the country to advance our liberatory vision of abolition. Their work is guided by the wisdom of those who have experienced detention firsthand. They believe these leaders are the heart of our movement and the true experts in our fight for collective liberation.
Ways to connect with Freedom for Immigrants:
- Their National Immigration Detention Hotline is the nation’s largest immigration detention hotline, connecting immigrants in detention to their family, resources, and abuse documentation support at no cost to them. Members of your congregation can volunteer for the hotline, which receives up to 5,000 calls per month. Click here to learn more.
- Freedom for Immigrants’ interactive detention map sheds light on the scope and growth of immigration detention, helping impacted individuals and local communities find resources and understand the impact of detention on their neighborhoods, cities, states, and the country as a whole. This map can help you find detention facilities near you and connect you with local groups engaging in visitation and other actions around detention centers.
