Developing Your Communications Plan

This webinar took place on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 7:00-8:00PM ET.

A recording of the webinar, copy of the slides, and resources provided in the webinar are posted below.

Too often, congregations, dioceses and other Episcopal organizations jump straight into communications tactics (What should we put on our website? What kinds of articles should we put in our newsletter?) before thinking through their communications strategies.

In this workshop we will focus on how to figure out what you want to say (your message) and who you want to say it to (your audiences), then focus on how the answers to those questions will shape your efforts in communications and evangelism. Our emphasis will be on developing your knowledge of your community and using this knowledge to compose a strategic plan—including an editorial calendar.

Presented by Rebecca Wilson and Jim Naughton, the partners of Canticle Communications, a strategic communications firm working primarily in the Episcopal Church. They are the authors of “Speaking Faithfully: Communications as Evangelism in a Noisy World.”

This webinar is the result of a partnership with Episcopal Communicators, a peer network for those working in the ministry of communications in the Episcopal Church. Click here to learn about becoming a member.
