Susan McDowell

Susan McDowell is the Senior Director for Endowment Management at the Episcopal Church Foundation (ECF).

With an extensive background in financial services, Susan brings over 20 years of expertise in investment strategy, portfolio construction, and values-aligned investing. She has worked closely with foundations, endowments, and nonprofits to integrate mission and purpose into financial decision-making while achieving long-term growth objectives.

Before joining ECF, Susan held leadership positions as a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch and CIBC World Markets, where she specialized in portfolio management, investment banking, and wealth management. She also spent over a decade at Morgan Stanley advising organizations on aligning their investment strategies with their missions.

A recognized thought leader in financial markets and impact investing, Susan has advanced innovative approaches to mission-aligned investments through her work with organizations such as the Aspen Institute.

Susan is passionate about helping Episcopal organizations steward financial resources to strengthen mission-based outcomes. An active member of Grace Church in Madison, NJ, she has developed a deep appreciation for the Episcopal community and its values.

Susan has been a featured speaker on topics spanning the investment spectrum, from traditional to private investments. She resides in New Jersey with her family and looks forward to contributing to ECF’s mission of strengthening faith communities through sound financial leadership.
