Diana Church Empsall

Diana Church Empsall serves as a capital campaign consultant for ECF based in New Haven, Connecticut. 

With over ten years of experience in philanthropy and fundraising, she is passionate about helping people and organizations serve their missions more effectively. Prior to moving to Connecticut, she lived in Washington, DC where she managed the government grants portfolio for Church World Service, successfully raising over $1.6 million in her final year. Before holding that position, Diana was a program officer for a family foundation, where she advised applicants on organizational development, strategic planning, nonprofit management and fundraising. 

A lifelong Episcopalian, she was actively engaged in Christ Church Washington Parish’s recent capital campaign, and chaired the annual stewardship campaign for two years. During her first year in that role, annual pledging increased by 20%. Diana also chaired the Sustainable and Responsible Investment Committee for the Diocese of Washington, and developed educational materials about SRI for parish leadership across the diocese. In her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, she served on the search committee for the eighth bishop of the Diocese of Kentucky. She holds a BA from Sweet Briar College and an MSc from the London School of Economics.
